Month Two Blogging Report Update: Traffic, Income, and Growth

As I stated in my first month blogging report, I want to be completely transparent when it comes to my blogging statistics and goals. This includes my income reports, traffic reports, and progress reports. I intend to be vulnerable with the goal to give a raw and real insight for those who are beginner bloggers or are considering starting a blog with a young family.

Blogging as a mom to a little one isn’t easy! It’s required lots of balancing and time management. Sometimes I hit my goals, sometimes I don’t, and that’s okay!

As I wrap up month two of my new blog, I’m going to structure my traffic, income, and learning experiences the same as last month. If you haven’t read my blogging report from my very first month blogging, I encourage you to do so!

Why I am Sharing My Blogging Journey

I want to share my raw and real moments with starting a blog as a mom with no experience to inspire other beginner bloggers as well. I’m a young married working mom with a now nine month old boy. I have a goal to make enough income blogging at the end of my 18 month timeline to be able to stay at home and raise my babies. We have 17 more months to work hard to try to reach my goal!

I started my blog on April 17th, 2026.

My second month statistics are from April 18th to May 17th. Besides my husband, I’ve continued to keep my blog under the radar from friends and family.

Second Month Blogging Income Report

How much did I earn after my second month blogging?

Actual Income: $0 (Goal: $0)

Last Month’s Income: $0

Again, this is completely normal for the first few months of your blog as a beginner blogger. The first several months are spent building credibility with Google. I don’t expect to make any money blogging for the first few months while I build traffic and trust. I’m still teaching Google and other search engines that I’m a consistent, real author. These search engines will need a few months to recognize who I am.

Second Month Blogging Traffic Report

Actual Pageviews: 88 per month (Goal: 35)

Last Month’s Pageviews: 79 per month

For my second month blogging, I reached 88 pageviews. My goal was 35 pageviews, so I reached my goal! I use Google Analytics to track my blog traffic and pageviews as a beginner blogger.

If you’ll recall, last month I had a sudden surge of 35 users in one day in the middle of my reporting time frame. I have a pretty solid feeling this was due to myself looking up my own blog to have a view of what my readers’ perspective looked like since I was rearranging my blog home page.

Even though my pageviews from last month and this month weren’t far off, I was pleased that this month’s pageviews were more consistent than last month without any surges. Last month’s pageviews graph looked very flat and low at the beginning and end with a single massive spike. This month, my pageview graph was a consistent trend upwards.

Lessons I Learned as a Beginner Blogger After Month Two

As I reflect on my second month blogging, here are a few things that I learned from my trials and errors.

Blog Themes and Design

This past month, I’ve learned a little more about blog templates and themes. I haven’t added a new theme to my blog, yet, but I plan to take those next steps soon!

I’ve learned how to take pictures and stage products for photos as well. I don’t have a professional camera or photography background. It’s just my little ring light and my iPhone in portrait mode, haha! One day, I plan to invest in higher quality equipment if my blog continues to grow.

SEO and Search Engines

I’ve also learned a lot about SEO. This is not an easy beast to learn, and perfecting SEO takes time and effort. This is what will get my posts to rank on Google and other search engines, so I will continue to invest my time here!

Pinterest Scheduling

I’ve learned a lot about scheduling Pinterest pins during my second month of blogging as well. I try to schedule at least one pin a day, and I’ve primarily been using Canva to produce my Pinterest pins.

Dealing With Spam Comments

Although Google hasn’t recognized me yet, I definitely have some spam comments that have. I’ve learned that it’s not uncommon to have spam comments try and show up on my blog. I’d like to find a way to eliminate these.

My Goals for Month Three of Blogging

Using my goals from last month and what I’ve learned during my second month of blogging, here are some goals for next (my third) month of blogging.

Blog Income Goals For Month Three

For month three, my blogging income goals will remain at $0 as I continue building traffic. I know that last month I mentioned that I would like to have 10 posts on my blog (which I’ve completed!) before applying to any sort of add network or affiliate marketing program.

After viewing my blog and researching other beginner bloggers’ experiences, I’d like to change my previous goal from 10 posts to 20 posts before applying to any programs to monetize my blog.

My first program that I plan to apply for ads is Google Adsense. For affiliate marketing, I plan to apply to Amazon Associates. My income goal for next month with remain at $0 as I work my way up to 20 blog posts before applying.

Blog Traffic Goals For Month Three

My goal is to continue increasing my blog traffic and monthly pageviews. My monthly pageviews goal for next month will be 100. I’m hopeful of this!

Blog Content Goals For Month Three

For the most part, I’ve been able to stick with my goal of posting two blog posts a week. There was one week during my second month of blogging where I didn’t stick with the script and fell short of this goal. By sticking to this schedule, I feel pretty good about having at least 20 posts here soon so that I can start monetizing!

Improving My Blog’s User Experience

I’d like to also apply a new theme to my blog sometime next month. This will help my blog to be much more user friendly, pleasing to the eye. I also believe that it will give me an edge when I start applying to ad networks or affiliate programs. I also plan to research and install a plug-in for those spam comments I mentioned earlier. Viewers, ad networks, and affiliate programs see my blog as untrustworthy due to the presence of spam comments. I want to appear as credible as possible!

Closing Thoughts on My Second Month Blogging

Although my blog is still in the very early stages, I’m proud of the progress I’ve made during my second month blogging. From learning more about SEO and Pinterest to improving my content and reaching my pageview goals, I’m slowly building a strong foundation for long-term growth.

I know blogging success doesn’t happen overnight, especially as a beginner blogger and working mom, but I’m excited to continue learning, growing my traffic, and working toward monetizing my blog in the coming months.
