Around 90 days ago, I started this blog as an outlet for my creativity and as a way to document my blogging journey from zero. As a new mom blogger with no prior experience, I’m sharing my third month blogging report to provide realistic blogging expectations for other beginners.
In my very first month blog report, I expressed my intentions of being completely transparent with my blog traffic and income along the way. I’ve just wrapped up my third month blogging and am now generating my third month blogging report. I feel like I’m getting the hang of it some days, while other days I feel more lost that I did on day one.
One day, I hope to look back on these young blog reports only to reflect on these small steps that lead to something much bigger.
As month three of my new blog comes to an end, I’m going to structure my post the same as last month’s blog report in regards to my income and traffic goals.
Why I Am Sharing My Blogging Journey
I want to share the reality of the long road of starting a blog as a mom with no experience to inspire other beginner bloggers as well. I’m a young married working mom with a now ten month old boy. I have a goal to make enough income blogging at the end of my 18 month timeline to be able to stay at home and raise my babies. I have 16 more months to work hard to try to reach my goal!
My blog started on April 17th, 2026.
My third month statistics are from May 18th to June 16th. Other than my husband, my blog remains a secret from friends and family.
If you’re researching how long it takes a blog to grow or wondering what blog growth after 3 months looks like, I hope these monthly updates help provide transparency and encouragement.
Third Month Blogging Income Report
How much did I earn after my third month blogging?
Actual Income: $0 (Goal: $0)
Last Month’s Income: $0
I will continue to have my income goal at $0 until I add some kind of monetization to my blog. The first several months are spent building credibility with Google. I want to continue to build credibility with Google and Pinterest before monetizing my blog. I’m still teaching Google and other search engines that I’m a consistent, real author. These search engines will need a few more months to recognize who I am.
Hopefully this will change (even by just a cent) super soon!
Third Month Blogging Traffic Report
Actual Pageviews: 188 per month (Goal: 100)
Last Month’s Pageviews: 88 per month
For my third month blogging, I reached 188 pageviews. My goal was 100 pageviews, so I reached my goal! I use Google Analytics to track my blog traffic and pageviews as a beginner blogger.
I’m glad this month’s pageviews were on the consistent side of things. I think, though, this month I actually had a slight trend downward. I did not post twice a week every week like I intended to due to a family vacation, hosting out of town guests, and a sick household. But that’s okay! I should expect some micro-downward trends as long as my overall traffic is increasing. It’s all a part of the process.
Lessons I Learned as a Beginner Blogger After Month Three
As I reflect on the first 90 days of my blog, here’s some things that I observed and hope to learn more about!
Changing Blog Theme
You may notice that my blog has a slightly different look than last month! I wanted to make it a goal during my third month of blogging to play around with the presentation of my blog. I did away with the black and white design and am now experimenting with different color palettes.
My WordPress theme is still the same, I just changed the colors, fonts, and layout of some things. I want to find a theme that allows me to have a dropdown link for each blog category. I feel like this would make it easier for users to navigate my site!
I’d also love to nail down a logo for my blog. I have a temporary logo on my Pinterest profile, but I think I’m overthinking how sophisticated my logo should be.
Keyword Research Tool
I’ve found that there’s only so much keyword research tools available for free. I know my blog is an investment, I’m just not sure I want to shell out nearly $100 each month in the hole when I haven’t even monetized my blog yet.
I’ve considered purchasing a subscription to Keysearch to identify high-ranking, low-competition keywords. Keysearch costs $24 per month, so I don’t feel like I would be losing much if this keyword search engine wasn’t my favorite.
Pinterest Scheduling Tool
Another tool that I’ve researched to maximize my time throughout the week is Tailwind. Tailwind is a Pinterest scheduling tool that speeds up the process of making pins and scheduling them throughout the month.
I currently use Canva to make my pins and simply schedule them in the Pinterest drafts section of my account. It takes longer to do this, but I feel like Tailwind would be another steep learning curve that I’m not ready to take on right now.
Consistent Posting is Key
I’ve learned how quickly my views can decline after a few weeks of back-to-back reduction in my posts. I try to post twice a week, but after three total weeks of family vacation, hosting family, and sickness, I only averaged about once a week for most of the month.
Now that my baby is sleeping full nights in his crib, I have been trying to allot time at night to write posts. I feel like this has worked well recently, I just need to stay disciplined. Consistency matters more than perfection. Every blog post helps build authority and gives Google more opportunities to understand my content.
My Goals for Month Three of Blogging
Comparing my goals from last month to my current progress, here’s some of my goals for next month.
Blog Income Goals for Month Four
For month four, my blogging income goals will remain at $0. I plan on applying to an ad network or affiliate marketing program this month. Pending acceptance, this number might be increasing soon.
Blog Traffic Goals for Month Four
My goal is to continue increasing my blog traffic and monthly pageviews. My monthly pageviews goal for next month will be 200.
Closing Thoughts on My Third Month Blogging
This month reminded me that blogging is a marathon, not a sprint. Every post published, keyword researched, and Pinterest pin created is another step toward my long-term goal. I’m excited to see what month four brings as I continue growing my blog, improving my skills, and working toward turning this passion project into a source of income for my family.
If you’re a beginner blogger, remember that progress doesn’t always happen overnight. Keep learning, keep creating, and keep showing up. I’ll be back next month to share another honest update on my blogging journey.
